NewcrestImage Introduces Courtyard & TownePlace Suites DFW/Grapevine Executive Team
GRAPEVINE, TX - JANUARY 27, 2014: As 2013 came to a close, the first dual-branded Marriott hotel in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex opened its doors and wished a happy new year to its first guests. One month into operation, the development by NewcrestImage, LLC has enjoyed a strong opening, with its new executive team welcoming guests in North Texas for both business and recreation.
The Grapevine-based Courtyard & TownePlace Suites is situated just minutes from DFW International Airport, between the bustling downtowns of Dallas and Fort Worth, and near countless North Texas attractions. The property includes 301 guest rooms and 13,000 square feet of flexible event and meeting space.
The combination of the iconic Courtyard brand and the rising TownePlace Suites brand allows NewcrestImage to cater to both short-and long-term stay travelers in one unique hotel.
"The Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex is an important hub for tourism and commerce in Texas and beyond," says General Manager Michelle Strong. The property's executive team is comprised of hospitality talents who rose to the top of a very competitive applicant pool. Among them are industry veterans with decades of experience and proven value in hotel management, and some from a young and ascending generation of hospitality managers.
MICHELLE STRONG | General Manager
Michelle arrived at NewcrestImage after over 17 years in the industry with both Marriott and Hilton brands. She has an extensive sales, training, and operational background, and considerable experience managing properties under the brands of Courtyard, Residence Inn and TownePlace Suites. Michelle has an impressive track record, having increased RevPAR year-over-year for every property that has been in her charge as a GM. With this position, she assumes her second dual GM role.
JASON TRONCALE | Assistant General Manager for Courtyard
As Assistant GM of the Courtyard division of this development, Jason will draw on his 12 years of management experience over Marriott properties in major Texas metropolitan zones, including Houston, Austin, and Dallas. He has been recognized for his ability to achieve cost effectiveness without compromising guest satisfaction or associate engagement. Jason's core strengths include budgeting and forecasting, cost control, and project management.
JUSTIN KUZSKI | Assistant General Manager for TownePlace Suites
Justin was a unique pick for Assistant GM of the hotel's TownePlace Suites division. He is one of the youngest managers on NewcrestImage's roster, and his varied professional background came to be viewed as an asset during the selection process. Justin, a former hockey player, has been a coach and mentor and is most comfortable in team settings. He has four years of sales and operational experience in the service industry, most recently with Embassy Suites, Fort Worth, TX.
ELISA BERDYCH | Director of Sales
Elisa's career in hospitality started two decades ago behind the bar at Hyatt Regency Austin, TX. For the last 16 years, she has climbed the ranks of several prominent Dallas-area hotels, managing both individual and corporate sales for Hyatt Regency DFW and Wyndham Anatole. Elisa made a name for herself in her most recent role as National Sales Manager for Business Travel at Gaylord Texan Resort and Convention Center, where she consistently exceeded revenue goals for her segment of the resort's over $21 million annual budget.
BETHANY HASTINGS | Sales Manager
Bethany started her business career as a marketing professional. She eventually shifted into sales ten years ago with Gaylord Texan Resort and Convention Center. She has both national and regional sales experience and a strong background in market analysis that she leverages when anticipating competitor moves and identifying key solicitation sources. Bethany's blend of skills and experience were seen by NewcrestImage leadership as critical for the competitive Dallas-Fort Worth hospitality market.
PEGGY GUTIERREZ | Senior Catering Manager
It can be said without equivocation that Peggy is an expert with hotel food and beverage service as well as event planning. Her work in hospitality started over 40 years ago as a server at Holiday Inn Garland, TX. Her enthusiasm for service led her to Hyatt Regency DFW, where as a loyal associate for over three decades, she became intensely familiar with food/beverage and catering management, as well as event coordination.
ANGELA ROBERTS | Director of Food & Beverage
Angela graduated in 2000 from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Hospitality Administration. She joins the team with over 20 plus years of Hospitality Industry within the Las Vegas Market. Angela has opened four hotels and went through two re-inventions with the Courtyard & TownePlace Suites being her fifth opening as part of the operations team. Her past experience has been in Food & Beverage, Catering Sales, National Sales, Front Office Operations and Banquets. She currently teaches at The International School of Hospitality in Las Vegas and Richland College here in Dallas.
JONATHAN PAPE | Executive Chef
Jon's body of work indicates a diverse and well-rounded culinary background. Throughout his career, he has wholeheartedly performed every conceivable kitchen task, setting an example for his peers and garnering the attention of his superiors. Fourteen years ago, Jon entered the hospitality industry culinary scene, working his way up the ladders at several Hilton and Marriott properties along the way. His five years of kitchen service at Gaylord Texan Hotel and Resort helped launch him into Executive Chef positions at other Dallas-based luxury and boutique hotels, including NYLO Hotel, Hilton Southlake and, most recently, Le Meridien.
JENNA CLARY | Events Manager
Jenna joined NewcrestImage three years ago as Sales Manager and Event Coordinator for Courtyard by Marriott Amarillo at the Historic Fisk Building. The company's leadership recognized her boundless talent and adaptability and were excited to learn of her interest in joining the Courtyard & TownePlace Suites DFW team. Prior to her work in hospitality, Jenna provided sales, communications, and operations support in healthcare and tech industry settings.
